ChefScape FAQ's
-
What exactly does Chefscape do?Chefscape is a business incubator and ecosystem for the Food and Beverage Industry. We provide a platform for all types of food and beverage related businesses, to help them get off the ground and realize their dreams. In building our Chefscape vision, we recognized local businesses needed more than just a place to prepare their product. They needed a way to develop and grow their brand.
-
How do I apply for membership? The first step is to setup an Exploratory Call. During our chat, we’ll discuss your business goals and will determine if ChefScape is the best fit for your business. If we decide to move forward, we’ll set up a time for you to tour our kitchen.
-
What should I expect on a tour? Our goal is to make sure everyone is ready for a membership with ChefScape. Our General Manager, Courtenay, personally invites you to visit our kitchen so you have the opportunity to learn about our facilities, check out the equipment and determine if they meet your current needs. We will get a chance to learn more about you, your business, your goals and how you want to grow your business. We take pride in our community, and we want to be sure you will be happy as a member, and we are the best place for you.
-
What if I can't commit right away. Will I be able to come back later?Of course. We understand that some businesses are still in development and business plans can evolve. We can work together to determine when you are a better fit for ChefScape. It’s important for our community to be successful—and that means no pressure to join if you’re not quite ready yet.
-
What are the requirements to work at ChefScape? Our member businesses are required to provide a business registration certificate, certificate of formation, food safety manager certification, general and product liability insurance, and if applicable, workers compensation insurance and commercial automobile insurance. They will also be responsible for obtaining a health department permit for their business.
-

-
Can you help me take my business from a side hustle to my full time employment?Absolutely! ChefScape is more than just a commercial kitchen—we are a food business incubator. We help you uncover, understand, and complete the steps for starting or expanding your food or beverage business. Our experts provide in-depth training sessions, one-on-one consulting sessions, and mentorship based on the needs you and your business have.
-
I'm just getting started. Can I rent your kitchen for a one time special event.Unfortunately, no. ChefScape is a communal kitchen space that incubates and accelerates food and beverage businesses who make at least a 6-month commitment. Our community of business owners are dedicated full-time or aspiring to be full-time in the near term.
-
Do you offer hourly or one-time packages? At this time, we have found that monthly offerings set up our members for success best so we do not have hourly or one-time packages. When you find yourself in a place where your business is craving that next leap, we will be here for you!
-
What if someone in the kitchen makes the same products I do?We embrace it! ChefScape is a collaborative space. We promote creativity, community, collegiality, and cooperation. There is room for everyone, and our goal is to help all food businesses thrive. If you need help identifying your differentiators in the marketplace, we can help!
-
Can I run my delivery only concept from ChefScape? Our kitchen is not designed to accommodate businesses that operate as ghost kitchens or produce made-to-order items distributed through on-demand delivery services like DoorDash and UberEats.
